Scripture:
James 4:7-20. Showing patience.
In verses 7-9, we are told to be patient with each other not grumble against one another. If we grumble against one another, we are in contempt of court so to speak and we could be judged. It says, "See, the Judge is standing at the Door!"
In verse 17, Eliyahu's "feelings" were mentioned. It says, Eliyahu was a man of feelings like us. So we know that we are always going to have feelings and emotions, it's just what we do with those feelings and emotions that can be sin.
Bil'am was angry at his donkey because he didn't understand that he was being protected. This all goes back to what I was studying last night about anger and feelings. When the first feeling of anger rises, it is an opportunity to either fail or succeed. The choice is ours.
In Scripture the ones who are called Blessed are the ones who endure. James 5:11.
In 1 Peter 1 we are called to be set apart in all our behavior as He is set apart. We are redeemed from the former lusts of the flesh. The former things we have done were in ignorance.
1 Peter 1:22 Now that you have cleansed your lives in obeying the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned brotherly love, love one another fervently with a clean heart, having been born again - not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible - through the living Word of Elohim, which remains forever.
To sum up, let all of you be like minded, sympathetic, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, humble-minded, not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, in order to inherit a blessing. For "He who wishes to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit,
let him turn away from evil and do good, let him seek peace and pursue it.
Because the eyes of YHWH are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers, but the face of YHWH is against those who do evil.
VERSE 14 - SOMETHING TO REMEMBER AT ALL TIMES:
BUT even if you suffer for righteousness sake, you are blessed. And do not fear their threats neither BE TROUBLED.
